switching was set to cron
yeah thats what i did.
To install a boot menu entry for a kernel you are booting, you must build a GRUB menu file like this:
grub> find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd0,0)
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-17-generic root=UUID=5bd9ba33-6ce9-48b0-9c94-cf1f13b097f0 ro
grub> initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-17-generic
ok but this is not happening at startup
this is happening after someone hits the quit button.
you are in the ubuntu+1 channel. this is not a support issue
im sorry i tried to add something you said earlier
grendal-prime: yes it is. Since you haven't got a functional /boot directory, you're not seeing the grub menu.
ubuntu+1 is not a support channel...im in here for a specifc issue with a specific window manager..but thats ok..sorry..
i have never done that before.
grendal-prime: To reinstall, run the command "sudo apt-get install grub2-common" and reboot.
ok
grendal-prime: or "sudo apt-get install grub-pc"
thanks
ok so the answer to my question is...no?
grendal-prime: maybe, but it'll probably work.
